Importing HD files
Happy holidays to all!
I have been handed a hard drive with over 200GB of HDV 1080i files and would like to know the best setup for getting them into Media100 HD for editing.
My system is: G5 dual 2.7PPC G5, OS 10.5.8, Media100 Suite 1.1.3 HDX, Huge System 1.2T raid.
The end result is for broadcast SD. I have been importing them individually but it is taking a while!

If you have all the files in one location you can drag and drop them to a bin, or you can select them all in the file import screen. It’ll take time but they will all import without having to go through the steps more than once.

Thanks for replying Mathew. That’s how I am doing it from several folders. I was wondering if maybe there was something like a codec or setting that would allow for fast import of HDV files.

Unfortunately I think you’re stuck with the import times.
Fast import is available for, I believe, only the M100, DV and Animation Codecs
