    My FCP X preferences are set to copy files. I imported an MXF file, did the edit, but .

    Can’t export I get can’t be shared when referencing media on the camera (the SD card)

    When I close FCP X, pull the SD card and reopen FCP X, I get media missing.

    If I close FCP X , put the card back in and try to export it won’t do it.

    What user error am I achieving?

    try to reimport the media in to the current project using the File > Import > Reimport for Camera/Archive options.

    Or open a new library and import that media again. Move that media over to your other library to reconnect it.

    Why do you suppose the system failed to copy the media to disk as my preferences had set?

    The file was 55 minutes. Maybe too long or it got interrupted?

    Yes, it may have been interrupted, is my guess.
