  Importing from M844x into Encore, producing mouse teeth/jagged lines–interlacing vs. deinterlacing / progressive?

  Greetings,
  I am working on exporting from M844x into Adobe Encore to create a DVD menu for my edited project. I have experimented with many different options to produce the best quality output file, and have found that a Quicktime .mov with no compression, best quality, millions of colors, “current” frame rate (29.97) at 720X480 4:3 size produces close to what I need.

  However, no matter what I use, “mouse teeth” are produced in my videos with vertical pans and vertical moving boxes (to see an example of what I mean, click on: https://justsayyes.wordpress.com/2007/06/28/demonstration-of-an-interlaced-video-and-deinterlaced-video/ or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deinterlace and look at the photo under “Deinterlacing methods.”)

  I have been researching this to try to understand what it means, why it’s happening, and how I can work it out to eliminate the jagged edges in my vertical pans/vertical moving boxes, but I am still looking for a breakthrough on how to fix this. Is there a setting in Media 844x that I can change, or something I can do to take away the edges??
