either copy the .VOB files to your computer, change the extension to .MPG and import, or play the DVD via a DVD player and capture via an analog to DV converter or dub to DV then capture normally.
Even when I use the VOB, the first thing I do it export this to an AVI, so you are working with DV instead of long GOP MPG

that was fast. But when i explore the dvd the files are video_TS.BUP, video_TS.IFO, video_TS, vts_01_0.bup, vts_01_0.ifo, vts_01_0, vts_01_0. Which file files do i use, I’m new to this. Tried useing a program that said it would convert dvd to avi but it only produced audio. the program i tried was prism. Just tried it about 10in. ago, so haven’t had time to explore the reasons why yet. I have been told to go to school for training and, as soon as i move my new boss is planning on a seminar but, i can’t wait till I move (too impatient).

FAQ: How do I import VOB files / edit a DVD?

You will also find links to many free tutorials in the PremiereProPedia that will quickly show you how things are done in Premiere Pro.

    Cheers
