Importing DVD-Video into Sony Vegas
Posted by Petr Berger on May 22, 2011 at 1:44 pmI need to import some footage from DVD-Video into Sony Vegas. I imported VOB files in Sony Vegas. Everything is ok, there are more audio tracks, but I only need english track. The problem is that Sony Vegas import only some sounds from the VOB files, no dialogue. Probably because of 5.1 surround? Is there a way how to get all audio channels? (Dont need 5.1, I just need the dialogue too).

May 22, 2011 at 1:55 pmYes, I tried it now, but it still doesnt work. I see only two channels in every audio track (only sound, now dialogue).

May 22, 2011 at 1:58 pmAre you using File – Import – DVD Camcorder disc to import these files?

May 22, 2011 at 2:18 pmI have the DVD-Video files on my HDD. When I try to open it this way and I choose browse and then I select particular DVD-Video folder and then I press ok… nothing happens.

May 22, 2011 at 2:19 pmBy DVD video folder, if you mean that have a folder containing the AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS folders, browse as far as the folder name, click on it and click OK.

May 22, 2011 at 2:33 pmI’m clicking at folder name, but nothing happens. I succesfully opened another DVD-Video on my HDD, but I cant open this way the DVD-Video I need. Strange. I can open in only with regular import (but without all audio channels).

May 22, 2011 at 3:07 pm… I have VideoRedo, a very good basic mpg-editor … what I would do is once I have my DVD files on my HDD I open them and select the audio stream I need (tools option) and recode to mpg to open later in Vegas if I want …. not have a multiple audio stream files right now to test, but I think it could do the trick…
my 2 cents…

May 22, 2011 at 11:50 pmI dont mind multiply audio streams. I need to get all the channels in audio tracks. Maybe I should set something else in Vegas to see all the channels, I dont know.

May 23, 2011 at 12:42 am..have you tried “drag & drop” the VOB(s) file(s) to the Vegas timeline ?? …. I`ve made this with success most of the times ….
good luck…
