[Gribble] “Is it possible to import DivX encoded AVI files into Premiere Pro 2?”

Premiere Pro or for that matter any other professional NLE doesn’t like highly compressed files such as DivX. Use something else.

    Premiere likes DV-AVI.
Convert anything you get to that format.
The time spent waiting will save you time in the long run.

Old post although I found the DivX is still not compatible with the latest version Adobe Premiere Pro. The basic reason is that DivX is a very heavily-compressed, delivery-only format, designed for decent quality, small file size, streaming media. For that sole purpose, they do a good job. They are NOT designed to be edited. To work with DivX files in Adobe Premiere Pro, you need to firstly convert DivX to Adobe Premiere Pro compatible file type.
