We can’t import/transcode XF300 footage into Final Cut Pro 7.
Does anybody have a step by step for transcoding into Apple ProRes for editing?

We copied the job from 3 flash cards onto our back up drive but log and transfer in FCP7 is not ‘seeing’ the files.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

I have not tried importing into FCP7 (use FCPX instead with an XF105) but you might try looking at the following link which seems very helpful:

    https://blog.abelcine.com/2012/02/07/how-to-import-c300-footage-in-avid-fcp-x-and-premiere/

There is a section for FCP7. The XF300 uses the same format files as the C300.

    Hope this helps.

Problem solved! Never change the name of your files as FCP can’t read them. I had renamed ‘CONTENTS’, changed it back and Log and Transfer worked perfectly. Lesson learnt..
