Importing AVIs causes vegas to lock up
I have recorded videos and every time I try to import media, vegas locks up. I just click import media, go to my folder, select the avi files, and then vegas locks up. The files are around 4 gigs a piece, but i find it weird that that would be the cause of my problem since using camtasia only takes about 5 seconds. I’d appreciate any ideas. I’m still new to this. Thanks

What codec do the AVI files use? What version of Vegas are you using? (if Pro is it 32-bit or 64-bit)

You should try run as admin before starting vegas.

You should try run as admin before starting vegas.
You should not have to do that. I understand that it fixed your problem but your PC must have other problems with video codecs. There is no reason to run Vegas as an administrator.
