Surely missing something fundamental here, but I don’t seem to be able to import audio of any flavor into AE. I’ve brought in copies of the same track as aif, mp3 and wav, and as well, a file from T&C Meyer tutorial DVD. In each case the file appears in the project panel, but when I pull it onto the timeline there is no speaker icon, no waveform, and of course, not sound. Actually the mp3 file does have a speaker icon, and a pull down to audio, but no waveform

    Advise most welcome

    Many thanks

What version of AE, what OS?
mp3 is a format AE does not really like, aiff or wav should work…

AE CS5; Mac OSX 10.6.6. Yes, that’s the weird thing the aiff and wav version are not working at all
