  • Importing: Apple ProRes 4444 Footage into FCP 6

    Hi All,

I just received a project with footage that was shot on a RED ONE and then converted to the codec Apple ProRes 4444. This is my first time working with this codec and was having difficulties importing the footage via Log and Transfer. I can import the footage using “import” but I cannot find a sequence preset that allows me to work with footage as is, thus without having to render.

Any suggestions or solutions? Anything and everything helps.

    Thank you in advance.

    Cheers,

    Josh

FCP 6 can only use ProRes422. You will need to get the RED footage and re-convert or find someone with FCP7 and convert the 4444

Just to add to Michaels point if you are working with files that have already been transcoded to QuickTime then you do not use the Log and Transfer tool to import.
Simply use the import tool or just drag and drop the files straight into your project.

    best wishes
