  importing and exporting question

  I digitize my material into Avid Meridien with a resolution 3:1. I export out my video files to quicktime so that I can use them in After Effects. My question is, when it comes time to render, what should I render out my project as? 1:1? or 3:1? Because I was thinking if I render out 3:1 in AE, then I’m compressing even more. Am I right?
