Importing a .MOV File
Hi, I’m using Vegas Movie Studio 4 on a Win XP PC. I’m trying to edit some .MOV files which I made using a Nikon camera, but when I attempt to import a file I get the message:
“An error occured while opening one or more files.
The file format plugin for the specified format was not properly initialized.”Using another product I have no such problem. I’d appreciate any help.

Those are quicktime files—I dont think your version supports them. You would have to move up to Vegas Video. Your other option would be to buy a video convertor–something like winmp–most are in the 30 dollar range.
