Importing 5.1 stems into vegas project
I have a set of 5.1 stems that were mixed and printed in protools and exported as 6 individual mono files. I have dropped them into a timeline and want to just route each of them to the correct channel (and exclusively to that channel).
It seems there is not ‘hard’ routing option like there are in DAW systems, so the only way to do it is with the surround panner…
So I have done it with surround panner, panning each mono file to the correct output and turned off the other channels in each case. My one question is for the center channel:
When I pan it to the center, and turn off the other speakers, the center channel speaker in the panner shows -6db to the center. The center master (at the bottom of the panner) is set to 0– but like i said the channel readout shows -6.
I’m not sure what this indicates, but I just want all channels routed at their current levels into a 5.1 bus.
