  Importing 23.976fps 1080p DSLR Footage – Slowed Down In Timeline?

  I started a sequence with the 720p 23.976 FPS DSLR setting in Premiere Pro CS5.5. I imported 1080p 23.976 footage from a Nikon D3100, and when I play back the video in the timeline, the footage skips backwards occassionally, and the audio is actually lower, as if it’s stretched or retimed to be slower. I double checked the properties of the original footage, and I got the FPS identical to the settings of the sequence. Why on earth is it doing that?
