imported sequenced image
Hello
I created a project with a series of sequence images (png) (stills) I can import them into other form and formats and even quicktime will play them like a movie but when I open the folder and import it into after effects and add it to the comp..it loads all the stills but only shows the first one and it stays on the first one as I scrub the time line.
How do I get AE to see this footage as sequenced.

try using file>import>file…. then, after selecting the files check the option for sequence. this should bring them in as a single image sequence in the project window and will behave like normal footage.
if your image sequence is contained within a folder, you should also be able to drag that folder into the project window to get the same result.
