imported quicktimes playing at 10 fps
I am attempting to import quicktimes provided by a client into FCP to edit. When I open the videos in quicktime the information panel tells me that they are 30 fps, but when I import into Final Cut it tells me they are 10 fps, why is this and which is the correct frame rate? Also, some of them are not playing back properly in fcp. I am working with FCP 6.0.4 on a MacPro.

For this file in particular (because this is happening with several files) the codec is H.264. I’d like to bring the videos in at their native frame rate.

H.264 is a delivery codec, not an editing one. Dave is right, you need to convert it.
