  • Imported model different in C4D versus AE-INV?

Is it normal for a model to be different when importing into different 3D apps?

I have a .3DS model of a male figure I downloaded from TurboSquid.com which I am using in AE-Invigorator. I imported the same model into C4D and the arms are in a different position from the way they look in Invigorator.

The arms looked better positioned in the C4D version. So I exported to .3DS and imported this 2nd version into AE-Invigorator. Arms look fine but a thigh object is displaced backwards in space from the rest of the model.

At no time did I do anything with the model except import and export.

So two different object position oddities. The second seems like a bug…

Anyone, have any explanations for this?

    Thanks, James

    Hi Albion,

I suspect it has to do with the fact that translations between file formats aren’t always 100 percent perfect.

I don’t have a great solution for you, unless you can go back to the app and try exporting the same object in a different usable format.
