Imported files as HDV but only option is to export as DV?

Then…don’t choose match settings.

Choose QuickTime>ProRes, as long as:
1. …you’re on a Mac, and:

2. …own an Apple product that has the ProRes encoder in it like a version of FCP or even Motion.

The problem is that no matter what settings I give the export it won’t retain the original size of the sequence. It always takes it down to 720×480 unless I tell it to match the sequence setting at which point I loose the option to change the codec.

You’ll need to access the video settings tab to change the video settings of course…

But if you pick “QuickTime” and then pick ProRes…at HD resolution, you’ll be set.

The QuickTime exporter defaults to the DV encoder…you need to pick what you want if you want something different.
