Imported AVCHD video skipping on playback in viewer/canvas
Hello.
I’ve imported AVCHD video (1080/60i) from a Panasonic HMC150P into Final Cut Pro 7 using Log & Transfer.
I used the settings recommended by the camera manufacturer…
SEQUENCE PRESET: Apple ProRes422 (LT) 1920 X 1080 60I 48kHz
CAPTURE PRESENT: DVCPRO HD 1080i60 48kHz
DEVICE CONTROL PRESET: Non-Controllable Device
The problem is.. when I play it in the viewer it skips .. freezes and goes forward to catch up.
It has also happened once a piece is edited.
Is there something I’m doing wrong?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like dropping frames… this usually is caused by the scratch disk environment. What are you using as a scratch disk, how is it formatted, and what Mac, OS, and version of FCP are you running? Is the scratch disk a separate drive etc? which kind and how is it connected?
FWIW, it really won’t matter in the end if the delivery isn’t a tape.
