I am brand new to SV using Version 10 Platinum with Win 7. I had several .mov files that I tried to edit down to then make a collage with transitions in between.

The problem I’m having is that whenever I finished with a .mov edit I saved “Project As” and now have a folder of .vf files… I thought I could just bring these back into SV and drag to the tileline but now I see that they are not media files and I can’t do that. Everytime I try to open one of the .vf files I get the non-edited .mov files imported into the Media area.

Is there a way to change the .vf to .avi of .mov to I can finish my project or do I need to redo in a different form? If I have to redo and save in a different form where could I find instructions on how to do that.

    Thanks,Jim

VF files are your PROJECT files. Basically an edit decision list. They do not contain the actual video, just pointers to the video. If you File – Open and pick one of those files, it should open fine.

I’m having the same problem. I think what the OP is asking is that you can’t import one .vf file into your main project.
For example, I worked on a section as a seperate file and tried to put it back into my main timeline after I was done with it and it wouldn’t work.
