Import to Vegas from TRV-950E
Hi All
I have a CX11-E which is great… I just import the .mts files from the memory card and drop them straight on to the Vegas timeline. A family member has been using a TRV-950E and has some DV tapes that he would now like to be edited. The question is… how do I import the video from the DV tapes to Vegas? There doesn’t appear to be any leads/cables provided with the camera to do this so what do I need to buy? The camera has various sockets such as:
– yellow audio/video (jack?)
– S-Video
– DVi (mini-firewire?)
– mini-USB
– LANC (mini-jack?)Happy New Year to Everyone!

It sounds like the DVi (mini-firewire?) port is the one you need to use. You will need to have a firewire port on your computer and then you need to buy a firewire cable to connect to the camera. These cables come with 6 and 4 pin ends. Cameras almost always need a 4-pin connector but your computer may have a 6-pin or 4-pin socket. You need to know which one you have (if you have one at all) before you can buy the correct cable.

There is a port that looks very similar, marked iS400. Is that also a mini-firewire?

Firewire comes in 400 and 800 so that may be a firewire port. All you need then is a cable.
