I just installed Adobe Premier Pro CS4 on my computer and imported a bunch of footage I shot on an HPX170. I noticed though that the program would freeze up for a minute after each folder import and after saving. Also, if I play a clip in the viewer, then stop it, the program freezes up as well. Sometimes if I wait, it’ll resume functionality, but other times, it won’t resume at all and I’ll eventually have to close it.

I’ve also noticed that while running the program, a process on my computer called the Import Process Server which is located with premier pro is using up a ton of memory. Up to 800,000 K to be exact, and I think this may be what’s bogging down my computer.

Unfortunately, I don’t fully understand how this works. I’m assuming that this process is managing the import of my footage? Is that correct? And if so, is there any way to streamline that process to decrease the processing footprint it has on my computer? Thoughts?
