  • Import from HMC-150 to FCP – audio slips out of sync

My first time importing footage shot on a Panasonic HMC-150. Footage is 1920×1080 24P stored on SDHC cards, transferring directly from card to FCP 6.0.5 on an Intel 2.66 with Kona LHe. The media comes in as Apple Pro Res 422 (I can’t change that, is there a way?) When playing clips in either the Viewer or after editing into a Timeline, the audio slips out of sync after 15-20 seconds… and further out of sync the further into the clip.

It appears to be similar to a Pulldown issue where picture runs at 24fps and audio runs at 23.98fps, but I can’t seem to find a sequence setting that makes it all happy.

Another editor off-site was able to import the footage and playback with no sync issues. I loaded his project and linked to the footage on my system and it displayed the same problem.

    Any thoughts? Help is appreciated.
