We are having problems importing footage from our FS-4 Pro to our Mac OSX.

It is taking a QT format from our firestore into FCP and then into the timeline, it does not render (reads not rendered) even though our system settings is set to unlimited.

Any idea on how to get this footage into a timeline without having to render it to view this in our Canvas Folder?

Any thoughts on what type of file we should use when recording to our Firestore, to make this transition easier? Thanks for any help!

What is a Canvas Folder? The Canvas is a window, and the render line appears on the timeline.

Dropping footage onto a timeline and getting the render bar means that your sequence settings and your clip settings don’t match. You need to choose an EASY SETUP that matches the footage you have, then create a NEW sequence…tossing Sequence 1.

You don’t say anything about your sequence settings or acquisition format. It sounds like a simple situation: your sequence settings don’t match the source material.

Find out what it is you’re shooting and set the FireStore and FCP sequence accordingly.
