    Dear Experts,

Thank you for reading this and helping. Very kind.

    Using Fcp cs3

Movie working with: Snapz pro x v2.1.1 capture from google earth..frame rate 22.67

    Imported into fcp to edit.

Then will take this edited movie into aftereffects cs3 and make an animation in PAL 24 frames per second.

Completely new at this: Imported above mentioned clear quicktime movie captured from google earth into FCP. It is now looking very blurry, but understand that is just the way fcp does, so it is easy to work with. Movie is still properly linked to the timeline but the orig movie is not in the bin. Only thing in bin is sequence 1. The movie in timeline indicates that the link is still there to the original.

Edited the file by cutting out parts.

Exported the movie as ‘quicktime’ ‘current settings’

Export shows the fcp qt icon…quality even worse.

    What am I doing wrong?

Perhaps when importing the movie there is some preset that kicks it into 24 frames per second and therefore the blurrines? How to change?

Perhaps need to convert the google earth capture to 24 fps before putting into fcp, would do in After Effects?

Thanks so much. Hope this is clear.

[hope holmesby] “Snapz pro x v2.1.1 capture from google earth..frame rate 22.67”

That’s a very odd frame rate…doesn’t match any broadcast format…or FCP setup.

[hope holmesby] “Then will take this edited movie into aftereffects cs3 and make an animation in PAL 24 frames per second.”

    PAL isn’t 24fps…it is 25fps.

Only if you drop this quicktime movie into a sequence with a different setting than your imported QT. If you have an Animation file, and you drop it into a DV sequence…it gets compressed 5:1, inherits 4:1:1 chroma sampling and is 720×480. It would be best to take your Snapz capture, export that from QT Pro into a format that you find in the FCP Easy Setups. Then choose that Easy Setup, make a new sequence, and then the file should play fine.

Now…Unless you have the Google Earth Broadcast License, you do not have the rights to use any of this footage in a public performance, or in any production in which you are getting paid. So tred lightly.

    Dear Shane,

Thanks so much for answering. Really appreciate it. What a kind and good soul.

    Yes, Pal is 25….right….

Yes, frame rate is odd…SnapZ just gives the fastest frame rate the cpu etc will allow…. need to get a MacPro and 4GB of ram.

Ok, this is all very good to know. Yes, ok, will do what you say. Makes alot of sence. Thanks so very much.

Yes, the copyright thing….well it is for a small non profit, and I am not getting paid….hmmmm…..

    Again, thank you mucho.

    Shane….

    LOL…Quite adorable…

Ok, well, no problem, sir. The music timing with footage was really superb, wonderfully holds the attention, the juxtaposition of bold images then moving, the flashes of light, the rhythm ….

It really takes an artist and musician to do such a thing….plus of course all the technical know-how…

    Again…very impressive…

Also appreciate emphasis of being well organized (dvd advertised)

    Hope
