  Import Canon Z-25 to FCP (‘No Video’ warning)

  I recently upgraded to FCP 5 and tried to digitize video from a Canon ZR25 (DV to Firewire). When I first hit capture now everything was fine. Then after about 4 seconds the capture screen became black with the warning (no video to capture). And on my log/capture window I just have color bars with no preview written across it. I have restarted numerous times, tried different settings and now can’t even see the video at all. I have tried changing my external video settings and nothing works. I even tried a different camera and got the same results. I figure the problem is FCP not the cameras.

  Is there a setting or a new codec I need? I have digitized plenty of times into FCP, but now I’m stumped.

  Thanks for any help/suggestions I don’t know what else to try.
