Posted by Brad Harris on December 22, 2010 at 2:34 pmHello,
I was sent some video that is 720×1280 H.264 24fps. I want to import these clips into Final Cut Pro but dont know what Sequence Preset to use. I appreciate any support.
Thanks,

December 22, 2010 at 5:02 pmIt’s tall? Are you sure it isn’t 1280×720? And since it is H.264, you don’t use them as is. YOu need to convert them to ProRes first, THEN use them. Use Compressor.

December 22, 2010 at 5:49 pmYou always use the same setting as your footage. The clip settings and the sequence settings need to match. Always have had to. And if you drop a clip into the timeline, FCP asks “Hey, do you want me to make the sequence settings match the clip settings?” You click yes. Always.
Well, not always. In certain cases you use ProRes settings if you are mixing formats. But your footage will be ProRes, so use that.

December 23, 2010 at 7:59 pmHello,
When I open the video in quicktime and view properties it says H.264, 1280 x 720, Millions
AAC, Mono, 44.100 kHz.
The size: 720 x 1280 pixels that is what it says when I import into Final Cut Pro. I am struggling with trying to work with the clips in Final Cut Pro.
Thank you,
Brad
