Import 2.0 Projects into CS4
I’m on an amd processor PC with vista 64 ultimatte. Just upgraded from 2.0 on win xp 32 and have many 2.0 projects on file. When I try to import 2.0 projects I constantly run into premiere crashes as it tries to load media files.
Many of these same files that cause crashes import fine into a new project. I have Matrox Axio hardware but the problem was the same before I installed the axio drivers and was only running matrox software codecs.
It’s not just video files that cause crashes, (the problem with video files seems to be limited to larger ones bigger than several gigs). I’ve had crashes caused by PNG, JPG, AIFF, PSD, WAV and MP3 files.
Is the solution to run all the video files through the Adobe converter and open and resave all the graphics files with Photoshop?
At this rate it will take hours to get a single 2.0 project working in CS4 before I can even attempt to edit it. CS4 may be wonderful, but not for working on older projects.
