[David Roth Weiss] “More important is that Premiere Creative Cloud is FCP 8.”

Feels like FCP7 to me (though more robust in it’s handling of modern codecs).

[Andy Branner] “I needs me some!!”

I don’t think so realistically – where do you work by the way? are you freelance?

[Andy Branner] “Overwrite the bottom clips to the primary (⌘⌥↓) and you might have yourself a screenshot for the editor’s timeline. :)”

lol. Honestly, it’s not that special, clearly one can pile up clips/FX in any NLE. It was that little TKY Grid Generator (thanks Simon!) and being able to do it all easily in the TL (clip skimming was invaluable) that made it cool for me…

[Marcus Moore] “I personally don’t care where the ideas came from as long as they’re good ones.”

You should make t-shirts with that slogan! It’s a good one.

I personally don’t care where t-shirt slogans come from, just as long as someone said it’s a good one!

Looking at a MacWorld review of the new Garageband 10 app for the Mac, it also has undergone a transformation to 64-bit code and its functionality appears to be derived from Logic Pro X (rather than the previous version of Garageband). Many of the capabilities in Garageband.app for Mac are lifted completely or partially from the same features in Logic. Seems to be a pattern here. And it can even be controlled, like Logic, with Logic Remote for iPad!

[Simon Ubsdell] “Instead of inventing something better, the drones at Adobe have done nothing but slavishly copy.”

Actually, it’s really quite good. The biggest problem is Adobe’s toxic business model.
