iMove > FCP > AE is there a better way?
Hi,
I think there are a few problems with my workflow to say the least and was wondering if anyone could offer some suggestions on how to get the best quality video out at the other end.
I start by using iMovie to turn my raw 1920 footage into something useable via the AIC, which I gather is pretty lossless?
Then more often than not I’m forced to bring it into FCP because I love the SmoothCam filter and unfortunately can’t seem to get the same results from magic bullet stabilise in AE…
I then export these stabilized clips out using export > quicktime > current settings (I assume this is the best/lossless way of doing it)Then play in AE until I’m done.
I wish I could skip out the FCP step as I feel its probably effecting the quality of my product, but I really like SmoothCam 🙂
Anyway any tips or suggestions on how things can change for the better would be very much appreciated! Oh and if it helps my primary output is vimeo.
Many thanks
Jason
