Imoporting files from Vado til FCP
Hello,
Found myself in a bit of a trouble when trying to import files from a creative vado cam (which are AVI files) to FCP
When I import the files directly from the cam’s harddrive, FCP says it doesen’t have the codec to view the file.
I’ve tried exporting the files trough mpeg streamclip both to Proress 422, H264 and Mp4 but the exported files always show up black with no sound when it’s done.
Im able to watch the files in vlc, which seems to be the only application who can read the files.
Does anyone have a suggestion how i can edit the material from this not very apple friendly camera?

The files are h.264 according to the Creative web site. Have you tried compressor? Might work OK there. ProRes is what you want them to end up being for sure.
