Image video adjusting
I have a waterfalls footage that has a very deep yellow brightness on one side contrasting the dark part of the image of the falls in the canyon or simply, one part of the image is dark and the other too bright. In FCP 7 I could easily apply corrections and play with the clip several times on the timeline to make a decent image in the end but in FCP X I have no clue. I gess it must be done in Motion but I am not very keen on this program so I am lost. Any hint where to look for? Thanks

X is much more powerful at grading than 7.

X has the same kind of garbage mattes that 7 had. For something as simple as a light/dark boundary, those or a simple luma key composite should be all you need to balance the light and dark ratios.

The matte tools in fcpx cc are very easy to use and play back in real time.
I often use several correction mattes with various feathers and shapes to grade a shot. And you can even key frame the masks in the timeline. And it all plays back in real time on my current iMac and my MX02 to a hdsdi monitor, quite amazing, way faster than Color.
