Image transformation
I am thinking about creating a logo animation. It begins with a circle and then the circle grows bigger and suddenly it transform into an arrow. How to create such a thing?
Should I use the opacity manipulation to hide the first image and show the second image or is there any other way to do this?

It really depends on how you want the transform to happen. You could make it as a shape layer or a mask and animate the shape from the circle to the arrow.
