    Hi,

I want to import an image sequence that has a transparent background. When I import it into Motion the transparent background turns into a black background.

I have other image sequences where the transparent background stays, but for some reason not on all of them.

    Any suggestions?

Did you check Motion’s interpretation of the alpha channel (Shift-F)?

Are all your images in the sequence 8-bit RGB? All the same codec, e.g. PNG or TIFF?

I’m not too familiar with the how to work with the Alpha Channel. I do know both of my image sequences are Tiff. I tried (shirt-f) while the image sequence was selected but nothing happened.

Shift-F is a shortcut that reveals the media in the Media tab of the Project pane and also selects the Media tab in the Inspector – you could just click on them but it saves some steps. In the Media inspector you can choose how Motion interprets the alpha channel. Try the different options.

Got it. Alpha type was None/Ignore. I changed it to PreMultiplied-Black. Thank you very much.
