    Say I have a radio waves effect. I also have an image of like a dog in the entire background. How do you make it so that the only thing visible are the radio waves, but instead of being colored, they show the picture of the dog. So you have many circles making letting the picture of the dog show through. Kinda like a mask…

    So you want the radio wave to reveal the image (doggie)?

    If so, create a new solid layer above you doggie layer. Add Radio waves to the solid layer.

    In the Doggie layer below, in the Modes Panel, set the Track Matte TrkMat) to Alpha (or Alpha Inverted if you want the spaces between waves to reveal).

    Is that what you want?

    Ya thanks thats exactly what I wanted. I can now apply it to like any effect. I couldn’t figure out how to make the effect like a mask for other stuff.
