Ive seen several examples in modelling where they have a background image as a template or guide. How do you import this image in the viewport(s)? Im using Cinema 4D 10 and im a newbie. thanks in advance

Select either Top-, Right- or Front-View, or one after the other /
go to Edit (in the Viewport) Configure… / in the Attributes-Manager
select the Back-Tab and import your image.

Or place a few Plane-Objects in Perspective-View and put your images on those.
(maybe enable X-Ray for your object and reference-planes)

    Cheers
