Got a new iMac Pro to use. After effects project is a keying job, using 6K prores files and exporting to prores 4444 with an alpha channel. Not a hugely complex key, has a couple of precomposed layers with masking and key light.

iMac Pro renders keep failing – main error is saying there is insufficient ram. The machine has 128GB and it absolutely flies in fcpx, redcineX, motion and resolve.

Same project exports fine on 2013 Mac Pro – any ideas why??

Are they both running the same version of MacOS?
Are they both running the same version of AE?

6k…on 128mb.. No wonder you ran out of ram. I don’t see it being possible on your current machine

    Hmmm….

    128GB of ram?

Yes Mac Pro and iMac Pro are on same OS and version of Ae.

2013 Mac Pro only has 32GB of ram but chews through it fine. iMac Pro crashes with errors saying it has run out of memory…
