I’m lightening clips, but they still look dark
Something weird is happening. Sometimes I have video clips that are too dark. As always, I go to Video FX -> Brightness and Contrast, and then select something like “Very Bright” or whatever. Always works great.
But in the middle of my project, none of the clips that I’ve altered look any different. I can add the effect, delete the effect, put the effect back on, etc. It still looks dark.
Is it just something in the preview? I am stumped.
UPDATE:
Ok, I rendered a test portion and it looked fine in the preview window while rendering, and the resulting video looks great (i.e. everything is lightened).
But when working with the clips, the preview window doesn’t appear to show the resulting video fx changes (nothing looks altered whatsoever). Did I change a setting or something? Thanks.

Bypass FX over preview window is activated maybe?
