    What model iMac is it? It might just be that it has a firewire 800 port on it, and you just don’t have the correct cable.

    AFAIK there is no iMac nor has there ever been an iMac that did not have a FireWire port. The current iMacs have FW800 only I believe.

    Actually the IMAC have one 400 & one 800 fire wire port.
    I have my ADVC-55 capture device in the 800 and my raid drive in the 400.
    (I didn’t have cables to go the other way)

    What do you think about the super USB bus that is coming out?
