March 10, 2010 at 3:23 pmWhat model iMac is it? It might just be that it has a firewire 800 port on it, and you just don’t have the correct cable.

March 10, 2010 at 3:28 pmAFAIK there is no iMac nor has there ever been an iMac that did not have a FireWire port. The current iMacs have FW800 only I believe.
All the best,
Tom

March 11, 2010 at 1:41 amTom,
Actually the IMAC have one 400 & one 800 fire wire port.
I have my ADVC-55 capture device in the 800 and my raid drive in the 400.
(I didn’t have cables to go the other way)Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac8,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.8 GHzI save all of your posts, because you are the expert.
However, today The planets must be out of alignment for you to make an error. What do you think about the super USB bus that is coming out?
It suppose to blow fire wire out the water! -
