Illustrator to After Effects Issue
Hey everyone,
I’ve been having a big unneeded problem importing .ai files into After Effects to use as vector layers (so I can scale and what have you, without pixalating and losing quality.
Clients send their logo’s that have been developed by other graphic artists, and I animate them. However, whenever I try to import these .ai files into After Effects (I’ve tried doing both the footage/composition import options with these .ai files) and then drag them into the comp, they are small and not vector, and lose quality as soon as you upscale them.
I’m not sure what I am missing as I have tried looking around for an answer.
Is it maybe because all the shapes and text shapes in the .ai file are on one layer inside of Illustrator as seen in this picture?
What steps should I take to be able to save this .ai document correctly, and then import it correctly into After Effects for the correct properties?
Thanks.
