I’ve been having a lot of problems lately editing a not too complicated 76 minutes time line in Vegas 7e.

I just couldn’t render expect to DVD, but I couldn’t render the whole line to the latest version of the cineform codec I’m using, which is the last version available of NEO HDV.

    I finally found a solution.

I cut the piece in 10 smaller pieces by adding markers. I only rendered between two markers to the highest quality of the Cineform codec, which was FILM SCAN 2.
When I had my 10 pieces I put them together in a new time line and I rendered again to to film scan. I compare my end results with my original footage and I simply can’t see a difference. I’ve at full 1440 x1080 rez. That Cineform Codec is amazing!

I also found out that Windows XP dumbs memory and accumulate errors pretty quickly. Rebooting after every 3 renderings made the whole thing a breeze.

I know, ideally I need to switch to an I7 64 bit system, but I couldn’t in the middle of this project. I will soon

Also, I had a couple of clips taken from the net and they all needed to be pre-rendered into the Cineform codec.

If it can help another beginner.
