If you could only buy one lens for the AF100…

Depends on what you shoot. I would start with a fast manual Nikon zoom in the medium wide range and a good MFT adapter.Used lenses are a good way to start.
Remember the field of view is double that of a DSLR 35mm lenses, so a 50mm lens has the field of view of a 100mm on the micro for thirds system.

I use 2, an Olympus 14-35mm f2 and an Olympus 35-100mm f2 with the Lumix adapter. These cover just about everything I need for interviews and some narrative work. Whatever you get, go for the lowest f-stop you can to take advantage of this great camera.

Thanks. I’ve an EX1 which is a great camera, but for shooting dramas everyone wants interchangeable lenses to try get a more filmic look to everything. So buying the AF100 seems a good option. I’ve actually got a couple of old Canon lenses… 80-200mm and a 35-80mm Zoom…

1) Would they actually fit the camera?
2) How useful would they be?

I’d like a set of Zeiss primes of course, but right this moment I’m just wondering what I can get away as a basic kit, hiring the really good stuff on a needs basis.

Heck yes they will work just as long as they have manual iris control your good to go. Buy a canon to MFT adapter and go for it.

If you can afford it, I would buy the Olympus 14-35mm f/2.0 lens ( $2,300 US ) or the Nikon DX 17-55mm f/2.8 lens ( $1,500 US ).

Otherwise, you can buy Nikon AI-S manual focus lenses:

24mm f/2.0 ( $400+ US )
50mm f/1.4 ( $200+ US )
85mm f/2.0 ( $200+ US )

Another option is Micro 4/3 AF primes:

12mm f/2.0 Olympus prime ( $800 US )
25mm f/1.4 Lumix prime ( $600 US )
45mm f/1.8 Olympus prime ( $400 )

…I love the speed of prime lenses, but zooms can be very handy.

The Olympus 14-25 f2 is excellent. The doubler for this lens is useful but you loose two stops.
Don’t forget to look at some of the fast 3rd party primes such as Tokina, and Sigma. Some people may suggest that these lens’s are soft at the edges or vignette, but due to the AF 102 2x crop, this is rarely an issue. The sensor is using just the center of the glass, not the edges.

I have sigma lens’s that I use on my Canon EOS they are prety good lens wourl I still use the MFT adapter for the canon lens? I have seen MFT adapters for under 50$ and some for over 300$ is there a big difference?
