  If i may jump into this “offline files” unpleasantness:

  Having similar problems with a project I’m working on. 150 or so shots stored on an external hard drive. Almost every time I open up the project, 1 to 5 different files show up as offline. Very frustrating. I would think a simple “reconnect” on one shot would right the other 4, but no luck. The files are video/audio combined and are STILL in the folder in my external drive, FCP just doesn’t want to recognize them.
  Kuh, just thought I’d let you know you’re not the only one experiencing file problems. Anyone have any insight or similar experiences with missing files?
