  • iDVD compression issue?

I’ve got a piece done up in FCP with a lot of stills where that quality on the exported QT file looks great, but after burning it to iDVD a number of the stills looks gross. Some have slight pixelation around parts, other’s have pixels that “jump” or the colours go slightly different

all these pictures were imported at the correct resolution and size for DV NTSC standards, as PSDS (i found JPEGS to be worse in this case…they’ve been fine before…) but I’m wondering maybe it’s the whole iDVD compression that’s giving me this problem…

Not that I use iDVD, but it sounds like the likely culprit to me. Can you turn up the bitrate in iDVD? If so, something like 8Mbps CBR will give you the best result you’re probably gonna get…

Do you have DVD Studo Pro and Compressor? It will give you more control over the encoding process…
