    Hey guys,

I’m facing a bit of a challenge (relative to my skills at least!).
I need to have a series of letters (not random, they form 4 specific words), slowly flying together horizontally like leaves in the wind, and eventually coming together to form the title.
I’m experimenting with wiggle and sliders, and trapcode as well.
As far as I know, trapcode doesn’t allow to “reverse” the particles, right, it’s always “outwards”, right ?

Anyway, I’m curious to know how you guys would go at it. The letters are 2D plain color, but it’s really about creating a motion as realistic as possible.

    Thanks !

    Hey Dave,
    Thank you for jumping in,
I would have to animate each letter individually, right, there is no telling trapcode what layers to use (a total of 16 characters in specific positions), and then have trapcode make them fly, right ?
I also tried time reversing a comp using trapcode and I get an error… could prerender of course.

    Jacob –

Have you seen this relatively new script on AEScripts.com? It might be just what you need:

You might also be able to do what you’re attempting with the AE text animation presets.

    Hey Jacob,
    That’s interesting thank you
I can’t use it for this project because every “character” has to be a sprite, not a font, but pretty close !

I found a way to do it. It looks pretty cool, I’ll share it in a bit 🙂

Hey Jacob, could you share the method you discovered? I’m looking for a similar solution.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jono
