  • I want the TV switch off effect to leave a green background

Posted by Bobby Sifon on March 31, 2022 at 2:23 pm

Alright guys first of all I want so say thanks for the help so far on how my project is going

    https://files.fm/f/zpm9jf2bs

[image link of project above] At the end of the animation where a tv switch off effect occurs, the logo screen presses inwards to create a TV switch off effect but I want the stationary background to be the same green color it started with at the beginning of the logo not black.

When the logo screen presses inward, I want it to leave behind the same green that was from the beginning

    Thanks

    see project file link below

    Hey Bobby,

    Just looked at your still.

Could you not just put a green PSD file on the bottom layer or change background colour, and then key out the black?

WARNING: Just thinking out loud, not necessarily from a point of knowledge 🙂

Nope dont use the still as reference

use the files and see if what you’ve said really works…

The reason I’m saying that is because i have tried copying the other green screen and pasting it to the bottom which painted the whole thing green….not what I wanted

You mentioned painting the background green… can you explain how to do it?

It might just be me, but your two links are identical and both takes me to the still.

In any case; in your “Black Solid” composition, you add a layer at the bottom, which you could call “Green Solid”.
A green solid can be generated inside After Effects, or in Photoshop, or similar.

If you do that, I would expect your “background” to light up Green.
