I think I lost something…
I just got a HVX 200 and I swear when I was going through everything I thought I saw a few CD Roms – but after the intial excitment and considerable wine intake…I have only one.. its the “Panasonic AG-HVX200 Utility Software and Operating Instuctions”
I keep thinking Im missing someting…does this camera ship with P2 Software disk…or can I down load something to read p2 cards…or do I even need software to read P2 cards?
I wish I didn’t drink wine when getting new gagets.

Okay, there’s good and bad news.
The good news is that there are downloadable drivers from Panasonic on the support and resources page of the HVX 200 @ panasonic.com. You can download all the drivers you need there.
the bad news is that you will need to upgrade your commodore 64, to the Amiga. It boasts 2 more Megs of onboard RAM and 10 mHz more of screaming processing power, and double the bits all around.
In all honesty, you are going to have to buy the upgrade to FCP 5.1 and do the free update to 5.1.2 or above to gain full p2 prowess in FCP. P2 import does not a capability of FCP 4.5 and works in FCP 5.0, but 5.1 has full p2 import functionality.

One more question. this Firestore HardDrive storage device will also only work with the FCP upgrade no doubt right?

Unless you have it already, be aware that this forum has PLENTY of entries regarding buggy Firestores. I’d stay far away.

Eric Bliss, our coder, tells me that he just read on Slash Dot that the latest people to buy and own the rights to the Commodore name and intellectual property have announced that they will be building and selling gamer machines.
First question many are asking is “Will it be a 64-bit machine?” — if it is, it too can be a Commodore 64.
