I realize this is basically called The Accordion technique
So, i duplicated the 3d layer a number of time changing the position, pressing shift and all that, so now, from the side or a slight angle it looks pretty cool, however. I create a new 3d comp, called EXTRUDE, i press click the Collapse transformation box.
Nothing happens, i really would like to get this accordion thing. it seems this concept was simpler in after effects 6.5
i am on a deadline for school and everything is actually going pretty swell, except i really need this technique figured out quick.

just modify this simple script so that the next sequential layer gets moved 5 pixels up or something. ask for a freebie in the expressions forum.
