I upgraded my computer to Tiger and fcp 5 and can no longer access my media, which was transferred with an aurora igniter capture card. Aurora is out of business and does not have an upgraded driver in 8 bit. I have dvds of my media and a cd of the igniter driver and, if I could get access to the above described system (g-4 with Panther and fcp 4), I could transfer the media to it and export them to uncompressed 8 bit 4:2:2 quicktimes so that I could use them in my upgraded system.

Please let me know if anyone in the Los Angeles area has this older system. Thanks in advance.

Out of business? The website is still there. Doesn’t say anything about closing. Did you get an email from them that they are closed?

Yeah, they aren’t out of business. I know a dealer here in L.A. that still sells their cards. However, they are VERY slow to respond to queries, and I think that tech support has fallen to the wayside a bit.

Sorry, I don’t know of anyone who owns a G4 in town. All my contacts have upgraded.

Very sad as I think they still have the best codecs out there. Unfortunately they never came out with the PipeHD which is what I was waiting for.

I agree. I won the Aurora Pipe Pro Studio during a Cow promotion a while back and LOVED it. Put it to use on a couple shows. But then I had HD needs and couldn’t wait any longer.

Now Rich from the Aurora forum owns that card.

MAN I wish they developed the Pipe HD.

Buy yourself an external HD. Install Panther on that HD. Boot from that drive then install FCP. You should have Panther (10.3) if you upgraded your system to Tiger.

I’ve phoned and e mailed them a half dozen times over the past month – nothing. Can you give me a name/phone number/e mail for the dealer you mention – perhaps they can be of help.

    Thanks in advance.
