I need to upscale 4:3 Pal letterbox to 16:9 anamorphic
Hi
I m a bit confused and looked at the forums and cant find an answer.
I have a sequence with 4:3 letterbox footage and 16:9 anamorphic.
I need to master everything as anamorphic.
I know I can proportionaly scale the leterbox material but I m loosing a lot of left and right.
How can I zoom in the image with only croping the top and bottom bars?
Thanks for your helpI know how to crop and than can I use distort to fill the screen? But what would the setting be to preserve aspect ratio?

Hi there click on the clip you want select distort – think -33.33 or 33.33 then scale to 120 percent – apple 0 on the sequence and select anamorphic
You will lose quality and if you are attempting this for broadcast you will need to insure all you titles and supers are within safe title
This is for a PAL sequence NTSC may vary slightly
